Steven Hintze

Steven P. Hintze, 64, of North Henderson, IL, passed away at 11:15 a.m., Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his home. 

He was born on October 18, 1954 in West Davenport, IA, the son of Marvin C. and Doris H. (Klauer) Hintze.  Steve graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1972. 

Steve married Susan Jo Carroll on July 9, 1977 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Bettendorf, IA; she survives.  

Steve worked as a Shift Supervisor for Rocky Flats Closure Site Services- Nuclear Weapons Plant in Golden, CO for many years; retiring in 2016.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, drinking beer, cooking, canning, camping, singing, talking, procrastinating, and telling jokes.  He also liked watching old movies, Hallmark movies, and NCIS. 

Surviving Steve is his wife, Susan Jo Hintze of North Henderson, IL; his daughter, Natalie (Jason) Linemeyer of Cambridge, IL; his son, Samuel S. (Adora) Hintze of Alexis, IL;  six grandchildren, Brianna Baker and Anya Linemeyer, both of Colorado, Ethan Hintze, Lily Hintze, Steven Hintze, and Daniel Hintze all of Alexis, IL.  Also surviving are three brothers, Joe (Teresa) Hintze, Dennis (Barb) Hintze, both of Long Grove, IA, Mike (Tracy) Hintze of Draper, UT; one aunt, Mary Klauer; two uncles, James Klauer and Uncle Herb Klauer, all of Davenport, IA; several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Doris Hintze.  

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  An Open Gathering of Family & Friends will follow at Jiggs Tavern (123 S. Main St, Alexis, IL).  Cremation will take place following the Celebration of Life.  Memorials can be made to the Steve Hintze Memorial Fund.
