SAN FRANCISCO - Jeanne Marie Edenson, of San Francisco, died March 26, 2016, in a car accident outside of Salinas, CA.  Jeanne was born in Bettendorf to Betty and Ed Edenson on May 31, 1954.  She grew up in Bettendorf, attending Our Lady of Lourdes School.  She graduated from Bettendorf High in 1972.

She graduated from the University of Iowa with her nursing degree in 1976.  After working at University Hospitals for a year, she headed to California, where she pursued her nursing career.  She graduated from Dominican University with her MSN in 2006.  She remained in the nursing field her entire career, most recently working as a clinical manager for Alere.  This allowed her to work from home, which she enjoyed, enabling her to spend lots of quality time with her dogs.

Jeanne fell in love with California, spending many weekends and vacations camping and hiking in the many state and national parks.  The real love of her life was her huskies, Loki and Laika.  She raised huskies for many years, and they were her family.  She also enjoyed gardening at her house.

Jeanne is survived by her mother, Betty Carl Edenson, Bettendorf; and her brother, Dean, with his family: wife, Amy, and daughters, Sophie, Kate and Annabel; and her Carl family cousins.  She enjoyed many close friendships and will be missed by all.

A memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes, Bettendorf, with time for fellowship in the hall afterwards.  A Celebration of Life will be held in California at a later date.

Jeanne and I were best friends growing up and all through Lourdes (and lots of nuns!) I practically lived at her house. It seems odd she has passed. We lived together in college too for many years. She was a great nurse and spent many years helping aids patients and vets in California. Her contribution to the world was good. We had kept in touch through facebook these last few years. Another truly dear friend has gone to be with God. Rest in peace my friend. You are truly missed.
