Ronald J. Van Theemsche, age 53, a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2008. He was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1954. After his High School Graduation from Bettendorf High School in 1972 he attended M.I.T. and then later graduated. He then relocated to Albuquerque, NM after accepting a job with Sandia National Labs. Ronald was a devoted husband and father. He shared his time and knowledge with the J.R.O.T.C. program at Los Lunas High School. He also held the officer positions of secretary and treasurer of the Sandia National Labs Golf Association. Ronald was also the Cub Master of Pack 116 and also volunteered many hours to the Los Lunas High School Varsity Swim Team and summer swim team. He will be met in heaven by his siblings, Toni and Dennis; niece, Missy; and father-in-law, Telesfor Apodaca. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Mildred of 20 years; loving children, Lisa Marie and Brian Paul; parents, Charles and Irene Van Theemsche; brother, Terry; nephews, TJ and his wife, Anna, and Jeremy and his wife, Mandy and their baby, Maggie Jo; mother-in-law, Maxine Apodaca; sister-in-law, Elsie Chavez and her husband, Fred; brother-in-laws, Manuel Apodaca and wife, Jeanne and Leroy Apodaca; niece, Tina Rios and her children, Angelic and Julian; nephew, Freddie Chavez and his daughter, Ameliah; extended family, Robert Barton Senior "Dad", Bobby, Cheryll, Michelle, and Pamela Barton, Annette and James Stewart, and boys, Elias Casaus and Zachary Lovato, and the Los Lunas High School J.R.O.T.C. instructors, Major (Ret.) Michael Lloyd, First Sergeant (Ret.) Luvin Contreras, and Master Sergeant (Ret.) Manuel Benavidez, the students of the J.R.O.T.C. program; and many other loving family members and friends. Ronald touched the hearts and souls of every person he knew. He will be greatly missed.
