Virginia and I were Girl Scouts together when we were kids. Our meetings were often held in her home. I always felt welcomed there. We all made projects, cooked amazing foods, and had such good times. She was one of the kindest young woman I knew. I pray for peace for her family - and blessings in their future as they grieve for this lovely lady.

Happy birthday Carolyn. I hope you have a wonderful day. I see you are a retired teacher. I remember how excited you were to go off to U of I. I followed you a number of years later - and also became a professor. You were an inspiration to me.
Ellen and I met at Washington School when we were in fifth grade in Miss Ludwig's class. We hung out with one another on the playground during recess, and I remember her as being sweet, funny, and a great friend. My fondest memory of those days was when she began coming to school with boxing gloves so she could box with the boys during recess. I am sure she will be missed by her family and friends. Godspeed my friend.
